You&nbsp;will be responsible for establishing the branch from the ground up, setting operation, assisting the AMLRO in obtaining the full license, hiring the local team, driving business growth (Sales and Account Management), and ensuring cooperation and alignement with European entity&nbsp;— all in preparation for a Q1 2026 launch.As an Electronic Money Institution, Swan faces many product, legal and regulatory challenges when conducting its business and operations : explaining embedded finance to potential partners, localising its product to each markets, fighting money laundering, protecting clients' funds, working with legitimate partners, etc. ✨ Main Tasks:<ul><li>Gain full authorization: Assist the AMLRO by being the payment and safeguarding expert to answer the FCA to be authorized with restriction at first, then having restriction lifted</li><li>Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the branch’s business strategy, ensuring it aligns with the company’s overall vision and objectives. Lead the establishment of the branch, from infrastructure setup to operational strategy formulation. Run the company corporate obligation with the leadership team from Europe.</li><li>Business Development: Identify and capitalize on business opportunities in the UK, to engage, sign and onboard our UK first customers. Build and maintain strong relationships with key players in the ecosystem (e.g., thought leader, public official, adjacent player, competitor)</li><li>Operations Management: Oversee the daily operations of the branch, ensuring efficiency, quality, and cost-effective management of resources. Localise European processes and systems to support business operations and report on operational performance.</li><li>Sponsor Bank Management: Ensure full working integration with the selected sponsor bank, validating safeguarding process and indirect participation to UK rails, and manage day-to-day relationship once fully authorized.</li><li>Compliance and Regulation: Support the Compliance team to gain the FCA approval. Ensure the branch operates in compliance with all local regulatory requirements and laws, as well as internal policies. Adapt Swan’s use cases to the UK regulation, with the support of the Compliance team. The Engineering team is by far the largest at Swan.

This team includes Software developers, who build payments and end-customer applications, as well as Infrastructure, DevOps, and Security. Clear communication is a priority in this team, so we make a point to find teammates who can express themselves clearly.

It’s important you’re rigorous, too, because when you’re building banking infrastructure you can’t afford to “almost” achieve things.

But you’ll never be alone in that task. Co-building is at the heart of the way we work, and we've got plenty of automated checks in place to help you along!

Operations

From ideation, through development, to launch, this team exists to build up an exceptional product! It is collaborative and cross-functional; for example, the Product and Tam teams often work together.

The product team is involved from the moment someone has the idea for a new feature, up until it goes live. The team builds up a description of what needs to be done, and co-creates functionalities with the tech team, who then implement those functionalities and deploy them into production.

This team includes managers, designers, QA, UI design, and banking experts.
